Last Quarter of 2009

I am uncertain how many consecutive years its been, but I found myself at the CNE watching the Canadian International Air Show once again, the aircraft along Lake Ontario during the last weekend of the summer is very Toronto and it never gets tiring.

The highlight for me are the jets. This year we were graced with:

U.S. Navy Blue Angels ("6"F/A-18 Hornets)
Canadian Century Hornet (CF-18)
USAF F/A-22 Raptor
USAF F-16 Viper East

It is quite a thought that these aircrafts are used for air defence. Our CF-18 have served around the world, even under Canada's NORAD partnership with the U.S. to protect the skies of North America 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Always the topic of discussion..........Is the Canadian F-18 a one or two seater?

Actually, its both. 1 pilot (CF-18A), 2 pilots (FC-18B)
